Managing the first ever official mixed zone at the World Championships Sailing. Challenge!

Excited to share the new challenge I had last summer: I was coordinating the mixed zone activities during the Sailing World Championships Aarhus 2018. Three years after working in Aarhus for the Worlds Nacra17, the Olympic mixed multihull Class, I’m was back in Denmark and I loved it! I kept in touch with the people I worked with ever since and was really lucky to be able to join them for the Sailing World Championships Aarhus 2018 from 31 July – 13 August.

The World Championships Sailing in Santander in 2014 was the last event I attended I attended as press officer for the Dutch Olympic Sailing Team. I continued working in the olympic sports industry though. Last summer I worked as main contact for the media at the Laser Radial Worlds in Medemblik and in winter I am floor manager during the World Cups Bobsleigh and Skeleton for the International Bobsleigh & Skeleton Federation. During the Olympics in Korea I was floor manager and spotter at the Olympic Sliding Center for the Olympic sports luge, bobsleigh and skeleton.

The Hempel Sailing World Championships Aarhus 2018 is a world class sport and a maritime festival rolled into one event. Sailors from over 100 nations will be racing in the waters of the Bay of Aarhus for world championships medals and the possibility to be qualifying for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. I will be on site to help coordinating the media and mixed zones!
